Dear Friends,

As we usher in the holiday season, I would like to take a moment and thank our community for the support and enthusiasm you have shown the past year... and the past forty years. The Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory celebrated its 40th anniversary and we are thrilled at the exciting and innovative ways we are fulfilling our mission.

Most notably, we recognized this momentous occasion by hosting the second International Conference on Learning andMemory (LEARNMEM) in April 2023 where we welcomed more than 1,000 scholars from 30 different countries. You can read more about LEARNMEM2023 in this newsletter.

While the reach and impact of our research is expanding, we also continue to build meaningful educational and outreach programs for the community. This newsletter showcases one of those programs: the UCI Brain Camp.

We hope to bring you some of our most interesting stories in this new printed format. Though we cannot possibly include every advance and accomplishment here, we hope these selected vignettes pique your interest and we invite you to stay up-to-date with us both online and at our in-person events.

I look forward to connecting with you soon!

Sincerely,

Michael A. Yassa, Ph.D.
