Dear Friends,
As winter settles in, I find myself reflecting on a year defined by thoughtful science, shared purpose, and a deep sense of community at the UC Irvine Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory (CNLM). This has not been an easy moment nationally or globally, and yet our community has continued to show up for one another and for the work.
This edition of NeuroTimes highlights the breadth of what we do together. You’ll read about our From Molecules to Memory conference last spring, celebrations of our award recipients, and the accomplishments of our faculty, trainees, and staff.
We also share research advances that are reshaping how we think about aging, memory, and novelty, alongside programs like the Irvine Brain Bee and NeuroBridges that connect our science to the broader community.
I’m continually grateful for the curiosity, generosity, and commitment that sustain the CNLM. Thank you for being part of this community.
I look forward to what we build together in the year ahead.
Sincerely,
Michael A. Yassa, Ph.D.
