Our current research investigates the neurobiology of learning, memory, and amnesia in rodents and humans. We are interested In understanding the dynamic organization of memory at the systems level, especially involving hippocampus, parahippocampal cortex, entorhinal cortex, and retrosplenial cortex. We draw on behavioral methods, electrophysiology, optical imaging, and neuropsychology.  We also apply fundamental knowledge about memory systems to understand age-related memory decline and Alzheimer’s disease.
