Sabariego's research focuses on understanding how we adapt to unexpected reward loss and update appetitive memories to guide our behavior. To explore these questions, her lab employs brain circuit manipulations and in-vivo neural activity recordings in rodents, with a particular emphasis on studying the hippocampus and its interactions with other brain structures.
